PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS:  Begin with Dark Pink Yarn (I used I Love This Cotton Yarn, Brand in Rosey II). I recommend using a stitch marker at the beginning of each round. Ch 1 after join will not count in your stitch count.

Round 1: 6 Sc in MR. Join with Sl St to first Sc, Ch 1.

Round 2: (Inc in each Sc around). Join with Sl St to first Sc of round, Ch 1. (12 Sc made)

Change color to Light Pink Yarn (I used I Love This Cotton Yarn, Brand in Warm Blush).   Round 3: 1 Dc in each ST around. Join with Sl St to first Dc of round, Ch 1. (12 Dc made)

Change color to Ivory Yarn (I used I Love This Cotton Yarn, Brand in Ivory).

Round 4: **1 Dc in next ST, Ch 1, 1 Dc back in same ST (“V” ST created), Ch 1. Sk next ST. Repeat from ** to end. Join with a Sl St to first Dc of round, Ch 1. (6 “V” stitches & 6 Ch 1 Sk Spaces)

After Round 4

Round 5: **2 Dc in center of 1st “V” ST, Ch 1, 2 Dc back in same Sp. Sl St into next Ch 1 Sk Space from previous round. Repeat from ** to end. Join to first Dc with a Sl St. Fasten off and weave in all ends. (6 “Petals” created)

After Round 5

Tassels (Optional):   Cut three long pieces of yarn each approximately 4” long (I used 2 light pink and 1 dark pink). Double the three strands over so that you create a loop at the top. With the wrong side of your coaster facing you, put your hook through the Ch 1 Space in the middle of 1 of your “petals”. Pull the loop through towards you. Pull the ends of the yarn through the loop; pull tightly to form a knot. Trim the strands down to the desired length. Repeat for the remaining 5 “Petals”.

There you go! You’re finished! I hope you enjoy your Mandala Coasters.
